Dilshan graduated from La Trobe University with a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences and a Masters in Physiotherapy Practice in 2016. Since graduating he has worked in the Aged Care Industry initially as the sole physiotherapist providing services to a 90-bed aged care facility before eventually progressing to team leading a team of four physiotherapists and oversee the care services provided for a 180-bed facility. In his 6 years of experience as an Aged Care physiotherapist, he has developed strong clinical skills including general rehabilitation to maintain and improve patient’s mobility, falls prevention, post-op rehabilitation, neurological deficit rehabilitation, cardiorespiratory rehabilitation and pain management and management of injuries of musculoskeletal nature. Outside of clinical skills, Dilshan has strong leadership and organisational skills from managing a team of four clinicians and has also enjoyed providing regular training for other staff in aged care facilities. He looks forward to transitioning to a mobile physio provider and bringing along his Aged Care experience.
Outside of his physio life, Dilshan enjoys going to the gym, socialising with friends and family, hiking, playing competitive sport including basketball and cricket, walking and training his dog and working on his car.
